Winter Months

Although we no longer are open during the early months of the year, St. Elmo is magical with snow and sparkling sunshine. Snowshoe and snowmobile trails are busy with outdoor adventurers. Monarch Mountain and Ski Cooper are open and ready for your alpine skiing adventure.

Summer Months

Book your stay with us as soon as your summer-getaway plans are set. Our calendar fills up quickly. All trails to Tin Cup, Hancock Pass, Mt. Antero, Mt. Princeton, Tunnel Gulch, Alpine Tunnel, and beyond are open and ready for your day trip, late June through September. Off-road vehicles are required for many of the trails. Hiking trails begin at our back door.

Celebrate a special event with us and we’ll bake a surprise cake of your choice at no additional charge. Our two-night minimum applies throughout the summer and autumn months.

Autumn Months

Fall colors delight visitors to Chalk Creek Canyon, St. Elmo, and beyond. With the start of the school year in mid-August, fewer visitors come to St. Elmo, giving guests an opportunity to explore quieter trails. We can suggest a few “secret” trails to delight those desiring to slip away from their busy lives. There have been moose sightings along these seldom-traveled trails.  Just ask us to point you toward a gentle morning or evening scenic adventure.

Labor Day is the last big weekend before fall colors reach their peak. Bring layers of clothing with you as the mornings and evenings have a bit of chill but the days are sunny and perfectly warm. See you soon!

Thanksgiving Celebration

Thanksgiving at the Ghost Town Guest House combines the best of your holiday memories with plenty of food, warmth, comfort, and friendship. Come celebrate with us. We’ll spoil you and give you much to be thankful for.  Traditionally, we begin to decorate the Guest House for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. You’re welcome to join the fun.

In the 15 years we’ve welcomed guests into our home, Chuck and I enthusiastically agree that our guests are simply the greatest! We delight in newly made friends as well as our treasured guests who make a point of arriving every year. We wish you well and look forward to seeing you soon.
