Winter Months

The early months of the year, January through April, are magical with snow and sparkling sunshine. Snowshoe and snowmobile trails begin right at our door. We keep a supply of snowshoes at no additional charge for our guests’ outdoor adventures. No need to get in your vehicle until your stay is over, unless you travel down valley to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort for a swim or explore the charming communities of Buena Vista and Salida.

After a day in the snow, a soak in your private claw-foot tub, bath salts provided will warm you to the bone. Hot chocolate, coffee, and tea along with cookies and snacks are available all day. Monarch  Mountain and Ski Cooper are open and ready for your alpine skiing adventure.

Summer Months

Book your stay with us as soon as your summer-getaway plans are set. Our calendar fills up quickly. All trails to Tin Cup, Hancock Pass, Mt. Antero, Mt. Princeton, Tunnel Gulch, Alpine Tunnel, and beyond are open and ready for your day trip, late June through September. Celebrate a special event with us and we’ll bake a surprise cake of your choice at no additional charge. Our two-night minimum applies year-round.

Autumn Months

Fall colors delight visitors to Chalk Creek Canyon, St. Elmo, and beyond. With the start of the school year in mid-August, fewer visitors come to St. Elmo, giving guests an opportunity to explore quieter trails. We can suggest a few “secret” trails to delight those desiring to slip away from their busy lives. There have been moose sightings along these seldom-traveled trails.  Just ask us to point you toward a gentle morning or evening scenic adventure.

Labor Day is the last big weekend before fall colors peak. Remember, if you’re celebrating a special event with us, we’ll bake a cake of your choosing as part of your stay and help you make your special day a treasured memory. Dress in layers as the mornings and evenings have a bit of chill but the days are sunny and perfectly warm. See you soon!
