In the heart of “14er country,” hikers have dozens of trails to explore, including the nearby Continental Divide and Alpine Tunnel Trails. Chaffee County has more 14ers than any other county in Colorado.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy soaking in mineral hot springs, whitewater rafting, fly-fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and Jeeping in the summer. Winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country and alpine skiing, snowmobiling, or just sitting by the fire and watching the snow fall. Monarch Mountain and Ski Cooper are local favorites for skiing.
