Ghost Town Guest House

Local Attractions

In St. Elmo and the Chalk Creek and upper Arkansas River Valley

During your stay at the Guest House, your historic adventure begins right at your doorstep. Walk along the boardwalks that some of Colorado’s most adventurous and finest residents once walked. Be sure to take your camera!

In the heart of “14er country,” hikers have dozens of trails to choose from, including the nearby Continental Divide Trail, all within an hour’s drive from St. Elmo.

Day trips to historic Leadville, Tincup, Twin Lakes, Salida, Aspen, and places in-between offer a wide variety of activities from hiking 14ers to rafting, exploring, and shopping.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy soaking in mineral hot springs, whitewater rafting, fly-fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and jeeping in the summer. Winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country and alpine skiing, snowmobiling, or just sitting by the fire and watching the snow fall during the winter months. Monarch Mountain and Ski Cooper are the local favorites for skiing.
